Exercise and a Hefty Meal

Don’t get fooled by the title because it is not all about healthy living… but happy living.

I was about to have my dental checkup now to adjust my braces but for some “emergency” reason, we have to reschedule it for next week. So here I am, blogging early in the morning about what happened yesterday. Up to this point, I’m not sure if cancelling our sched is a blessing in disguise. It’s been a while since I last played badminton so it’s just understandable that I’m experiencing body pain right now. And yes, that’s extreme as if I need to have a bed rest.

Ok, here’s the real story…

It was almost four in the afternoon when my boyfriend and I reached the meeting place and just what I expected, Ice has been waiting for us. Fortunately, she didn’t look bored, annoyed or something. Haha. Could be her new toy a.k.a. gadget that kept her entertained.

Fast forward: We played badminton for an hour at SureShot sports center. I wasn’t comfortable about the place and the people already playing. I just felt that I didn’t belong. Haha. Talk about Chinese men, athletes, schoolgirls and boys and whatever. Then once we started playing, we got the hang of it. Though quick and pricey, an hour of workout was really fun and enjoyable. My boyfriend also learned how to play the game that day. Haha. I couldn’t help but laughed and teased him about his failed attempts to serve the feather errr, shuttlecock. He’s good with rallying hits but not with serving. I even told him that it’s about the TIMING, same thing that he always tell me when I fail to get the right rhythm and miss a tune while playing the guitar. Huh, you see? While you’re good in playing the guitar, I’m better in badminton. Lol.

Hit it hard!

I had a hearty laugh while using the shower room. Sometimes, figuring out how things work can get really really funny. HAHA. Anyway, after freshening up, we headed to SM San Lazaro for dinner. So much for sweating out when we’re about to intake more calories. I don’t have any problem with it because I’m trying to gain weight so it was really favorable. Heavy meal after a workout? Hope I gain few pounds!

First stop was at the grill station. Lol. It is where you eat ihaw-ihaw and what-not. In short, sa kanto lang. I won’t call it foodtrip for I only had barbecue. Too bad, I missed the grilled chicken/pork liver.

Then we had our dinner at Karate Kid – Chicken Tepanyaki with unlimited rice and iced tea plus Takoyaki for Ice and me. Gyudon, Miso soup and California Maki for Babu. I couldn’t believe that we really ate more than what Ice could have eaten. Haha. Maybe it’s a blessing – eating without the fear of gaining weight.

Last stop was at the grocery then we parted ways. I felt bad that I accidentally hurt Ice’ toes with the pushcart. And to balance things out, karma hit me before the day ends. The bag of groceries hurt my right leg when I lifted it up, causing a kinda long, unsightly scar. Geez. The world knows I didn’t mean it. Ice and Babu knew that very well.

That’s all for yesterday! :)

Defining ECG

Electrocardiogram or is commonly referred to as ECG is a special kind of test used by medical practioners to find out if a person is suffering from an abnormal heart ailment or specific condition. Not only does it reveal any heart ailment but it also shows how a patient reacts to the treatment. ECG is almost often done when a person is suffering from chest pain, is having difficulty breathing, occasionally faints, or usually palpitates. An Electrocardiogram can also detect evident diseases in coronary arteries and reveal the effects of medications. It can also tell if a patient had a recent heart attack or has an irregular heartbeat. It can also identify any mineral content which a patient’s blood may have. However, it is not an omniscient test. Man has not yet developed it to the point that it can consistently detect an underlying heart ailment the reason why other tests are still required by physicians. Overall, ECG is harmless and reliable. It has helped doctors treat patients.

Lose Weight in 3 Months!

I’m tired of hearing people say “Hey, you’re too skinny!” And then I have to go through all the details over and over again on why and how I dramatically lose weight. I’m not using diet pill that works fast and I am not anorexic. For three consecutive months, I was not able to eat well (and sometimes I don’t feel like eating at all) because of my TMJ problem.

Sexy Sad Anime

Ain't that gorgeous?

It all started with tooth extraction, then 2 months of wearing TMJ appliance and now with one-month old braces. Because of that, I’m no longer experiencing extreme headache and numbing pain on my spine and shoulders at the expense of losing weight.

Once my sweet-tooth is back, I gonna munch carbo-rich and protein-rich foods. Of course I have plans of gaining weight. I miss hearing compliments of me being sexy.

Goodbye Splint, Hello Braces!

Anime Brushing Teeth

This is the way I brush my teeth... 3X

Independence Day!

How timely, time to be free of uncomfortable TMJ splint! After two months of wearing this appliance, I have to brave the pain of getting braces now! Here comes Phase 2 of treatment. If not for my TMJ (TemporoMandibular Joint syndrome), I won’t spend thousands for braces! (I can buy engine driven pumps and install a good irrigation system for our farm with this amount of money.) I don’t have the perfect bite but it doesn’t matter to me until I experienced hearing and chewing discomforts. Whew.

My ortho said that I have to give up chicken joy and barbecues for the meantime! Also, I’m starting to feel the tightening effect of the rubber and kinda sharp metal (whatever it is) in my mouth.

I’ll be into soup-porridge-milk diet for the first few weeks! Oh gosh, my weight will suffer again! I haven’t gain any ever since I resigned. In fact, I’m getting skinnier each day!

What Not to Use at His Place

Cute Anime Girl in Towerl

Shower at your own risk...

This month’s Cosmo issue inspire me to list down the top 5 items that you should let your man keep to himself:
1. Toothbrush
2. Razor
3. 2-in-1 shampoo/conditioner
4. Deodorant
5. Facial Wash

The first three appears on Cosmo’s list while I added the fourth and fifth one. Top 1 is sooo gross, so as they say. As for the razor, staying away from your guy’s blade means staying away from bacteria that can be passed to you through shaving-induced nicks. It’s not being OC but being extra careful which can help you can avoid rash or infection. As for 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioners, they lack cuticle-sealing moisturizers unlike our traditional conditioners. Plus, shampoos are meant for the hair and scalp while conditioners are for hair alone.

Deos have different formulation, too. We know that men sweat more than women so their deodorant may be too strong for your sensitive skin.

It is not also recommended to use their facial wash especially if you have sensitive skin. Their skin care products are completely different from your own needs. Even if you’re tempted to use your man’s blackhead remover, never ever try! Your face needs extra care than his so you must be gentle in washing, scrubbing or exfoliating your skin. Have your kikay kit handy along with your toiletries for cases like this.
